What if I experience cyber sickness with Zoom virtual background
Tips on overcoming cyber sickness with Zoom virtual background.
When your professor uses a virtual background in a Zoom meeting, bright-colored backgrounds may trigger cybersickness for some students. Cyber sickness has similar symptoms as motion sickness. If you feel cybersickness, you can do one of the following things.
- On your Zoom meeting screen, switch from Speaker view to Gallery view so that you don't need to focus on your professor's image by clicking the View icon on the top right of the Zoom screen, then select Gallery.
- Do not stare at the Zoom screen, just listen to your professor.
- Tell your professor about your sickness and ask if your professor can turn the virtual background off.
