Zoom Workshop Sessions for Faculty (Fall 2022)

All sessions are hands-on and conducted online in CTLET Blackboard organization using Bb Collaborate.
No registration is required.  Pick the topic and date/time listed below, come to the session via CTLET Bb organization.

Zoom Basics (1 hour) 

This session is for those who have never hosted a Zoom meeting before.

Date/Time: Thursday, 8/18 @11 am; Tuesday, 8/23 @1 pm; Thursday, 9/1 @3 pm

After completing this session, participants will be able to:

• Download Zoom app to the desktop and associate it with CUNY Zoom 
• Identify the appropriate basic settings for Zoom meetings
• Create a Zoom meeting session and send the session invite to students  
• Conduct a Zoom meeting with basic features including audio, video, screen sharing, whiteboard and chat 
• Record a Zoom meeting and access the recording
  
• Access and download session attendance

Zoom Accessibility (30 min) 

Prerequisite: Zoom Basics 

Date/Time: Thursday, 8/25 @10 am; Monday, 8/29 @3 pm

After completing this session, participants will be able to: 

• Enable the auto-generated live transcript/closed caption for a Zoom session 
• Set the properties of live transcript/closed caption 

Using Polling for Better Engagement (30 min) 

Prerequisite: Zoom Basics

Date/Time: Friday, 8/26 @10 am; Tuesday, 8/30 @3 pm 

After completing this session, participants will be able to: 

• Enable polling in the Zoom settings 
• Conduct polling 
• Access and download polling results 

Using Breakout Rooms for Student-Student Interactions (30 min) 

Prerequisite: Zoom Basics 

Date/Time: Friday, 8/26 @3 pm; Wednesday, 8/31 @10 am 

• After completing this session, participants will be able to: 
• Enable breakout rooms in the Zoom settings 
• Randomly assign students to breakout rooms
•  Manually assign students to breakout rooms 
• Pre-assign students to breakout rooms
