As an English composition instructor with over twenty years of experience teaching within CUNY, Doug DiToro helps students develop the critical thinking and writing skills necessary for success in college. His student-centered approach to teaching encourages students to explore and share their own perspectives on relevant, timely social issues, and use them as jumping off points for their research and writing. He helps students understand that writing is a process that moves through stages, from invention to revision to finished product and that collaboration with peers and instructors is a vital, rewarding part of that process.
