Computer Systems Refresh Project
The computer refresh project is an ongoing program that insures computers on campus do not fall too far behind from our ability to maintain them and the manufacturers warranty and end of life cycle of support. In 2018 IT installed 100 new computers in main Library located in the Academic Core. The machines that were replace are still useful and will insure we extend the life of other areas on campus. In 2019 with the support of our Student Government we had a major increase in the Library of over 80 new computers in new areas that were installed and all models that were no longer supported by the manufacturers were successfully replaced. In 2020 due to the global pandemic we shifted our focus to support our students, faculty and staff remotely, this meant gathering equipment so everyone could work remotely and build the necessary infrastructure to support this new model which IT has done successfully.
Now in 2021 we are focused on the return of our students, faculty and staff and will be insuring all computers on campus are in working order and certified for use. This is no small under taking as we have over 2800 various systems not including phones, copiers, printers and audio visual equipment. Everyone is already hard at work.
