Interim Vice President for Finance and Administration

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Mr. Charles Bozian as Interim Vice President of Finance and Administration. He will be joining the York team in April. Mr. Bozian’s background and expertise will support the advancement of York’s mission and strategic plan during these unprecedented times.

Charles will serve as a member of the President's Cabinet and the chief advisor to the President and executive staff on fiscal affairs, administrative, and facilities operations.  He will oversee several major units including: Budget and Planning; Campus Planning and Facilities; Environmental Health and Safety; Financial Operations, including - General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Auxiliary Services, Bursar, Central Receiving, Mail Services, Performing Arts Center, Purchasing, Print Shop, and Space Planning; Human Resources, Information Technology, and  Public Safety.

Charles comes to us from Big Brothers/Big Sisters of NYC where he has served for nearly 9 years as Chief Administrative Officer with responsibility for all financial and administrative affairs including: financial control and planning; treasury functions; information technology; risk management; human resources and benefits; legal affairs; and building operations.

Prior to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of NYC, Charles served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for Macmillan Publishing for nearly 10 years which capped a 25 year career in the book publishing industry.  Immediately preceding his position at Macmillan, Charles was Chief Financial and Operating Officer of Columbia University Press, the NFP publisher affiliated with Columbia University for 6 years. 

Charles’ commitment to working with youth is demonstrated by his service on the Board of Trustees of the Brilla Public Charter Schools in the Bronx for the past 4 years.  He has also worked for many years with local charity efforts in the communities around his home in Northern New Jersey and has coached in youth sports programs. 

He holds both a BS and an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University and completed a three-year company sponsored executive development program at Columbia Business School.

I know you will join me in welcoming Charles to the York College community during a time when we continue to adjust to the challenges and opportunities presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.  I am confident that his background and expertise will provide a positive impact on the Finance & Administrative Affairs team.
