York Photo Journo Students Learn from Alum's Exhibit
The work of Nacha Kama is the current exhibit in the college's Fine Arts Gallery (February, 6 - 24, 2017); and Journalism Professor Thomas Moore was so impressed he took his Digital Photojournalism class (388LMN) for a preview and lesson.
Ms. Kama, a member of the York College Class of 2008, majored in Information Systems Management with the equivalent of a minor in photography, will be on hand for the gallery reception on Tuesday, February 21 from noon to 2:00 pm to discuss her work.
Journalism student, Aqsa Abbasi seen in this photo by classmate Latika Sareen, was deeply moved.
"Surrounding myself with art is another zone I want to reside in," said Abbasi. "I [hadn't] seen anything as beautiful as this concept of unity [before]."
The pieces in the Nacha Kama exhibit were taken on a trip to her homeland of Owerre- Olubor, Delta State, Africa.
