Dr. Sparacino is an Assistant Professor of Political Science. His research focuses on the origins and development of American political party organizations. His first book argues that the formation of the Democratic and Republican Governors Associations contributed to the nationalization of American party politics and to state governors becoming increasingly focused on politics occurring in Washington D.C. His current research explores party organizations representing mayors, state lieutenant governors, attorneys general and secretaries of state at the national level.
