Julian Breandán Dean is Assistant Professor of English at York College where he teaches classes in English Literature. He likes to teach, read, and talk about tragedy, the history of the theatre, and postcolonial literature--especially postcolonial literature from Ireland, the Caribbean, South Africa, and Nigeria. Professor Dean is interested in the ways history is treated as a narrative in literature and how literature is used to correct singular readings of history.
