Shoba Parasram joined the Department of English at York College in Fall 2017, first as an adjunct lecturer, then as a full-time lecturer. She graduated from Rutgers University in 2019 with her second Master’s in Education, after earning her first Master’s in English from Brooklyn College in 2011. She is an alumna of York College, earning her BA in 2007 with a double major in Psychology and English. She currently serves as the WAC Coordinator for Writing Intensive courses at York. Prof. Parasram has a passion for helping her students build their foundational research and writing skills through her ENG-125 and WRIT-300 courses. She enjoys collaborating with students to help them achieve their individual writing goals, as well as adapting her teaching style to suit different instructional modalities and needs of her students.
