Dr. Yonghong L McDowell holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from CUNY York College in 2014 after which she earned a Master of Arts in Mathematics from Columbia University in 2015. Dr. McDowell started her career as early as 2011 at York College as a college assistant, and then as a mathematics adjunct lecturer in 2015 with the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. While teaching at York College, she continued her studies and earned a MPhil in 2019 and a Ph.D. in 2021 in the field of mathematics education from Columbia University. Dr. McDowell’s research interests focus broadly on the teaching and learning of mathematics with a commitment to working towards achieving equity and enhancing diversity of undergraduate students. Her research interests also include calculus analysis, linear and non-linear analysis, probability and statistics, and general transformation of partial differential equations.
