Dr. Palazzolo will review relations between President Trump and the US Congress during the first year of his second term with reference to theories of presidential-congressional relations and developments in the US Congress.

Dan Palazzolo is Professor of Political Science at the University of Richmond, where he teaches courses on American government, the US Congress, campaigns and elections, and public policy, and directs the Virginia General Assembly Internship program. He is also Co-director of the Gary L. McDowell Institute at the Jepson School of Leadership Studies. He is author of two books and editor, along with James Ceaser of the University of Virginia of Election Reform: Politics and Policy, and author or co-author of over twenty journal articles and chapters dealing with congressional leadership, budget policymaking, elections, and Virginia politics. His current research focuses on coalition building in the US Congress and the relationship between politics and sports.
