Philosophy (BA) Program Assessment
Mission
Our mission is to engage ideals of democracy and justice by preparing students to evaluate critically the assumptions and arguments supporting claims about the nature of the world and the meaning of our experience in it.
Goals
- Critique the structure and practices of societies and institution
- Demonstrate familiarity with paradigmatic questions and topics that animate core subdisciplines in philosophy: aesthetics, ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, and hermeneutics.
- Develop basic competence in application of logical argumentation.
