Academic Advisement Center Assessment

Mission

Academic Advisement serves as a central function within the Cardinal SOAR Center at York College, advancing a coordinated, holistic advising model that integrates academic planning, career development, and student engagement. Guided by the SOAR framework, Students, Opportunities, Advisement, and Resources, the Center delivers proactive, appreciative, and data-informed support designed to promote student progression, persistence, and timely degree completion. Through an integrated, student-centered approach, the Center aligns advising practices, campus resources, and technology to create a seamless experience that strengthens academic momentum and fosters a strong sense of connection and belonging. Intentional advising practices support students in defining and achieving their academic, personal, and career goals while developing the competencies necessary for success beyond graduation. As a driver of student success, the Cardinal SOAR Center contributes to institutional priorities by enhancing retention, supporting equitable outcomes, and preparing graduates to thrive as professionals and engaged global citizens.
