602 graduates of the SUNY-Queens Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) getting ready to ‘walk this way’ (as RUN DMC would say) into careers as security guards, certified coders and billers, home health/ personal care aids, Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) workers or this way into their first college class that was music to my ears.
Adult Learning Center hosts Spring GED Graduation

York College Adult Learning Center (ALC) held its GED graduation and awards ceremony on Tuesday, highlighting the determination and strength of its graduates to accomplish their educational goals. Donning all black caps and gowns, 11 students gracefully entered the campus’ amphitheater for a bright and sunny spring ceremony with a crowd of family members and friends in full attendance.

I graduated with my bachelor's from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, upstate. I played lacrosse there, majoring in sociology with a minor in criminal justice. I was there from 2013 to 2017. I knew I wanted to be in a field where I could help people, so I chose sociology and criminal justice because they would allow me to enter law enforcement or social work.
