This morning, York’s Department of Public Safety held a wreath-laying ceremony in the courtyard of the A-CORE building to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of 9/11 and pay tribute to the lives of so many people lost that day.

Alumni & Entrepreneur Jeff Lindor Keynotes 2024 Fall Convocation

Alum Jeff Lindor, founder and CEO of the Gentlemen’s Factory Inc., was the keynote speaker on Thursday at York’s 2024 Fall Convocation. A native of Haiti who immigrated to the United States as a youngster with his family and grew up in Coney Island, Lindor told students, faculty and staff gathered in the A-CORE Amphitheater that before enrolling at York, he questioned societal woes and searched for answers.

The York College Provost Derrick Brazill, interim President Claudia Schrader and the York College family mourn the passing of Erzulie (Vica) Mars. Vica, 46, is an alum of York College who gave tremendous service to York and her community. She was an incredible ambassador for the College.

York College's Dr. Nicholas Grosskopf, professor and chairperson of the Department of Health and Human Performance, and Dr. Selena Rodgers, chairperson and professor of the Department of Social Work and founding director of the MSW Program are among 36 education leaders chosen by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) for the second cohort of the Department Chair Leadership Institute (DCLI), a program developed to address the unique needs of department chairs at state colleges and universities.
