An Important Message about Extracurricular Activities

To the York College Community:

Under the York College Fall 2021 Reopening Plan, groups who wish to hold extracurricular gatherings are permitted to do so, so long as appropriate COVID-19 precautions are in place.  Any group who wishes to schedule such an event should submit a written request to Dan Matte, at dmatte@york.cuny.edu, to begin the scheduling process.  Requests should include, at a minimum, the date and time of the event, the estimated number of guests, the nature of the event, and any particulars relevant to the size or space to be reserved.

Please be advised that all extracurricular group events scheduled on campus are subject to approval from the Department of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, and depending on the implementation of appropriate COVID-19-related precautions relative to the current community risk factors.  Upon the conditional scheduling of an event, requests for final authorization should be sent by the group’s organizer to studentdevelopment@york.cuny.edu, with a copy to dmatte@york.cuny.edu; the subject line should read "Request to Authorize Extracurricular Event," and should include the COVID-19 provisions being implemented to ensure attendee safety.   No extracurricular group event may take place without having first received written authorization from the Department of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs.
