Pre-Medical Information
While York College does not offer a pre-medical major or certificate program, we have many resources to help you in your pursuit of a career in medicine and/or other health-related professions such as dentistry, osteopathy, podiatry, optometry, pharmacy, etc.
Dr. Andrew Criss, in the Department of Biology, is the Pre-Medical advisor at York College. If you are thinking about a career in medicine or other healthcare-related fields, you've come to the right place! Dr. Criss is here to answer your questions and guide you every step of the way, from planning your course schedule to preparing for your MCATs and completing your application. A great place to start is by reviewing the FAQ section of this page.
In addition to one-on-one advisement, there are numerous resources available to our pre-med students. This includes informative meetings and guest speakers, MCAT prep courses, application assistance, tutoring, and much more. It is strongly recommended that you attend the Introductory Pre-med meeting offered each semester to meet Dr. Criss and have your questions answered. The date and time will be posted on this page, sent out to the mailing list, and posted on the Pre-Medical Board in front of the Biology office (4E03).
