Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) Eligibility Requirements

Transfer Students

Please Note: In light of the increasing concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and our desire to keep everyone safe, York College  has transitioned to remote operations.

Requirements

Students must meet all of the below requirements to be considered for the York College Science Technology Entry Program (STEP):

  • Be enrolled in grades 7-12
  • Be a New York State resident for a minimum of 12 months before applying to the program
  • Be a member of a historically underrepresented group (as defined by the New York State Education Department: African-American/Black, Latino/Hispanic, or Native American/Alaskan Native)
  • Students who are not a member of a historically underrepresented group must meet the NYSED Income Eligibility Criteria
