Hands-on session with step-by-step instruction to create an exam or quiz and deploy it in your course.

TT2 I collect homework, grade all by hand and return all to students so they can see their grades. How to do that online?

Creating, giving feedback and grading assignments using the test tool, Turn it In and the Grade Center

TT3 I ask questions, let students think about an answer individually and write it down, they then share their thoughts on a board in a small group, then I moderate a whole class discussion. I closely watch students’ body language and expressions and in guiding the discussion I am expressive and use humor. How do I do that online?

Asynchronous online class

Use Bb Groups tool to assign students to groups. Then each group posts their responses on the class Discussion Board. Next ask students to comment on peers' posts. This activity can last a week. Encourage students to use emoticons.

Synchronous class session

Use Bb Collaborate Ultra Breakout Group feature to break students into group rooms. They can use the group Whiteboard to type their answers or use the audio to talk with one another. Afterwards, you close the group rooms and bring students back to the class main room. While students are working in their breakout rooms, you can enter each of the groups to see what they are doing.

TT4 I start my class with a quiz or with asking students what they found difficult in the readings. I use the results to grasp students' (mis)understandings and to focus on difficult points in class discussions. How do I do that online?

Use Bb Tests or Surveys (anonymous) and set up timer and available time interval at a scheduled day.

Synchronous class session

Use Bb Tests and set up timer and available time interval at the beginning of your online class meeting.

TT6 I lecture while writing or drawing on the board or while showing a PowerPoint. How do I do that online?

Use Bb Collaborate Ultra then choose the Share File option. It is better to use a tablet if you want to handwriting and drawing.

TT7 I let students present work on the board that we then all discuss. How do I do that online?

Use Bb Collaborate Ultra and switch your student's role from participant to presenter and let them use the Share File option.

Registration for the Transition Training sessions is not necessary, but your attendance in any session will be recorded. If you miss a session, recordings will be made available. We’ll send updates if needed.
