Before Joining Insight I was unsure about my abilities and had a lack of confidence on what I could use my abilities for and having the time to talk and be honest about certain things, I can now say I feel more prepared and grounded from before. I hope to use what I've learned about myself and from Roosevelt to better help myself with school and find new opportunities on campus to work and give back to the community.

This Program has helped me so far in multiple ways. To start it has helped me learn more about myself and do a deeper dive into what my strengths are and how to maximize them. This also opens another way of thinking for me as new things are brought to my attention... [Insight] is helping future me with potential career path help by finding internships and what exactly I am passionate about.

I discovered that one of the main obstacles I faced was procrastination. Insight's guidance and support allowed me to overcome this. My mentor helped me develop a schedule to manage my study time, identify areas where I was wasting time, and pinpoint gaps in my schedule where I could fit in more studying. Our meetings were always fulfilling, and I never felt like a meeting was a waste. It served to not only improve my academic performance but also my overall confidence and sense of self-worth. I began to see that I was capable of more than I had thought and that I could achieve success with the right mindset...I am now working towards my goal of becoming a history professor and I am grateful for all that I have learned through my mentorship.

INSIGHT creates a safe space for students to feel comfortable asking for help and guidance, no matter where they are in their academic journey. Through INSIGHT, I learned different techniques to develop confidence in my abilities, which improved my academic success, and positively extended into all other aspects of my life. I highly recommend INSIGHT to any student who struggles with issues like finding support, purpose, focus, motivation, confidence, or any other issue that may result in difficulties pursuing their academic and career goals. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are so many resources available at York to assist you in reaching all of your goals, and INSIGHT is a program I couldn’t recommend more. Thank you INSIGHT!
