New Deputy Director of Purchasing

Please join me in welcoming our new Deputy Director of Purchasing, Ms. Christine Weithers, or "Chrissy," for short, to York College.

Ms. Weithers brings over eight years of higher education and procurement experience from other CUNY Senior College and Professional College levels, from Career Development, Human Resources, and Finance and Administration.

As Deputy Director, Christine will support the College by overseeing the Purchasing department and its vital role in acquiring goods and services. Additionally, Christine will ensure purchases are compliant with applicable New York State and CUNY procurement rules and regulations, promote the use of NYS-certified MWBE/SDVOBs, and liaise between the College, CUNY Office of General Counsel, as well as external stakeholders.

Chrissy is an avid supporter of continuing education and has spent most of her career taking courses around her work schedule. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from SUNY Purchase College and an MPA in Inspection and Oversight, with a specialization in Law and Inspection and Oversight from John Jay College.
