Student Veterans and Staff Distributed Classic Bomber Jackets
The Office of Veterans Affairs (OVA) at York College recently hosted a heartwarming event where they distributed jackets to student veterans and staff members who have served or are currently serving our great nation.
Thanks to generous donations from the Queens Veterans Center representative Zhou "Jo-Jo" Chen, and the York College community, OVA was able to distribute more than 35 bomber jackets on March 19. These jackets feature the York College Veterans Affairs logo.
"We would not be able to share these gifts without the support of organizations like The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF)," said Larry Eaton, SCO, Veteran Affairs Manager, who explained that DVNF raises funds to provide winter coats and blankets to veterans through its Health and Comfort Program. "The DVNF's work is invaluable. They facilitate coat drives across the country, collecting and distributing coats to those in need through partnerships with non-profit organizations," said Eaton.
