York Political Science Students Take the UN

Following a three-year absence due to the COVID pandemic, York College Political Science students were finally back at the United Nations this week (May 1, 2023), representing the College.

Professor Michael Sharpe's Pol 241 Basic Factors in International Relations, class was "thrilled" to experience the UN Security Council on this exciting trip to enhance their in-class experience.

In other Poli Sci news, last week Professors [Robin] Harper and Sharpe brought their classes and had colleague Noel Ojo from USAID and her colleague from the UN, zoom in from Washington and Senegal to talk about their work together in Senegal on alleviating the practice of forced child begging.

"York is being represented in the international arena," Dr. Sharpe noted.
