Alternative Financing programs

Alternative financial programs such as New Market Trade Credits (NMTC) and Opportunity Zone financing could provide crucial funds for local economic development projects and business opportunities in Southeast Queens. Some areas of downtown Jamaica are eligible for financing from the recently created $6 trillion US federal Opportunity Zone Program. Participating in this workshop is important, best practices will be examined. Participants will begin the process of learning how to utilize these financing programs to spur growth.

Community stakeholders and business owners must encourage innovation that builds on local competitive advantages and unique circumstances.

After this meeting, we will collectively work on a comprehensive strategy and implementation plan that enhances your chances to obtain these funds. The NYSBDC at York College will provide technical assistance to help you navigate the process and pull together your application for financing.
