Office of Human Resources
It is the mission of the Office Human Resources to provide service in support of York College's mission, values, vision, goals, and initiatives by delivering quality services to York College employees and the community.
We will do this by:
Ensuring the human resources staff are given the space, tools, training, and motivation to operate in the most efficient and effective manner.
Establishing, administering and effectively communicating sound policies, rules and practices that treat employees with dignity and equality while maintaining compliance with employment and labor laws, policies and procedures of the City University of New York and labor agreements.
Establishing a work environment that is safe, healthy, trusted and supports employees and their families balance work, personal and family responsibilities.
Retaining valued employees by assuring effective leadership qualities in our managers; furnishing technical, interpersonal and career development training and coaching; conducting exit interviews and supplying relevant feedback to the management; and enhancing two-way communication between employees and management.
Establishing and maintaining procedures and systems which produce administrative efficiencies, minimize redundancies, and increase productivity.
Acknowledging employees and improving morale through recognition, effective communication and clear expectations and outcomes.
