School of Health Science & Professional Programs

Celebrate & Support York College’s School of Health Science & Professional Programs 10th Anniversary

In keeping current with the ever-changing healthcare care and professional arenas, this year, the Masters of Social Work program began and the Physician Assistant program went from a combined Bachelors/Master’s program to a Master’s degree program.  While growth occurred in both Nursing and Occupational Therapy with increases in class sizes (50 and 40, respectively) to provide more career opportunities to students and to address the growing health needs in society.  Our programs have received National recognition by U.S. News & World Report (Best Graduate Schools- Physician Assistant Program) and Nursing Explorer (Best-value RN Programs-Nursing).  In addition to their responsibilities of teaching, scholarship and service, our faculty created new programs (i.e. Masters in Nursing Education and a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy) which we are currently awaiting approvals for.

As one of our valued alumni, you know best that York nurses, occupational therapists, physician assistants, social workers, clinical lab scientists, teachers and all other health-related graduates are well-trained, dedicated professionals who provide top-notch care to thousands across our Borough, City, and beyond. I believe that the foundation for the exceptional care you provide is our stellar faculty. I am sure that you fondly remember one or more professors who made all the difference in your College experience, and in turn, your career and life.

I now ask your help to provide our dedicated faculty with opportunities to expand professional development and scholarship activities that are not covered by the steady trend of deceasing higher education funding.  This year, like every year, our faculty are invited to present, give lectures and deliver keynote speeches in state, nationally and internationally.

I sincerely hope that you will consider a tax-deductible gift to pay it forward (for as much as you can, no gift is too small).
