Please advise us, as soon as possible, of your intent to join us. If you accept York's admission offer, please follow the steps below.
Log onto your CUNYfirst account and navigate to the “Student Center” to confirm your decision. You will be required to pay a $100* non-refundable commitment deposit. The fee will be applied toward your tuition.
*Note: Under certain circumstances, we may waive the $100 commitment deposit if you apply for the Free Application For Financial Aid (FAFSA) and your FAFSA Summary Submission has a low Student Aid Index (SAI).
All incoming freshmen MUST submit a completed immunization form with proof of vaccines/immunizations.

Did you earn any college credits while in high school? College credits can be earned through Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College Now (CN), and other college courses you may have taken at any college for college credit while in high school. Before moving forward with Advisement and Registration, please be sure to submit official transcript(s) and/or score report(s) for all such courses to transfereval@york.cuny.edu.

If you answered "YES" to any of the questions above, then you DO NOT need to prove residency. If you answered "NO" to any of the questions then carefully follow the steps as indicated by CUNY.
ATB Exam: All New York State residents who have a foreign high school diploma are required to meet the New York State ATB standards in order to be eligible for the state's Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). If you have any questions, please contact our Testing Office at: testct@york.cuny.edu
If you think you qualify and need financial aid to help pay for college, you must file the Free Application for 2024-25 Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible! Need help? Join us for one of our upcoming FAFSA workshops.
A FAFSA is required to be considered for financial aid and it is used to apply for all federal financial aid, including the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Loans and Work-Study. Once you have completed the FAFSA, you may then apply for New York State financial aid, such as TAP (for NY State Residents only) in the same session or via the HESC website.

CUNYfirst is your official student account through which you will register for classes, view your financial aid, and pay your bill.

Congratulations, you are on the road to registering for first-semester classes. Before you do, however, you will receive an email invitation from Academic Advisement for a meeting. One of our advisors will guide you in choosing classes to set you on the right track for academic success. The last two steps for you as a new student are to enroll in Orientation and our First-Year Experience (FYE) Program.
At York College, we use our orientation session to give you campus competence and campus confidence. You'll learn where classes are held, what professors will expect from you, and the school resources and support available. The First-Year Experience (FYE) Program uses a comprehensive approach to guide you through an extensive program that assists you in acclimating to college life—both academically and through co-curricular activities. Our goal is to make you a member of the York family from the moment you step on campus and help you find ways to share your gifts and talents inside and outside the classroom.

To accept your offer of admissions, please log into your CUNYfirst account and navigate to your "Student Center".
All accepted students are required to pay a non-refundable $100 commitment deposit. The commitment deposit will confirm your enrollment at York. It will be applied towards your tuition.
Note: If you applied for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and your Student Aid Report (SAR) has an estimated family contribution (EFC) of 3000 or less, you may be waived from the commitment deposit. The sooner you file your FAFSA, the faster you will find out if you have been waived.

Once you have accepted your offer and committed to enrolling at York, our Transfer Credit Evaluation Unit, in the Registrar office, will determine how your courses will transfer from your previous institution(s). You will be notified via email about the status of your transfer credit evaluation (TCE). Also, if you are a non-CUNY transfer and had courses in progress at your previous institution at the time you applied to York, you must submit your final official transcript (once grades have posted) along with proof of degree (if applicable) electronically to transfereval@york.cuny.edu.
