TEACH Grant Program
York College is a participant in the Federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education program (TEACH Grant).
The grant provides up to $4,000.00 a year to students who are enrolled in an eligible program and intend to teach in a critical need area in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.As a TEACH Grant recipient, you must teach for at least four academic years within eight calendar years of completing the program of study for which you received a TEACH Grant.***Students that do not meet the requirements of their service obligation will have their TEACH Grants converted to Direct Unsubsidized Student Loans. These loans will have to be repaid back to the U.S. Department of Education, with interest charged from the date of each grant disbursed. Direct Subsidized and Direct Unsubsidized Loans
Initial Elegibility Criteria
- Meet all general Federal financial aid requirements
- File the current year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) 2024-2025
- Maintain a 3.25 Cumulative G.P.A
- Have earned a minimum 90 Cumulative Credits
- Must be enrolled in an academic program designated as TEACH Grant- eligible
- Complete the Current Year Initial Entrance TEACH Grant Counseling
- *Sign a TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve

Once you complete the TEACH Grant application please forward your completed application to the Department of Teacher Education along with the TEACH Grant Entrance Counseling. *You will be notified when you may complete the Agreement to Serve Contract.
